The bad part about making cakes is the pressure that comes when one of your loved ones has a special event that you are making the cake for. It’s like you feel this need to top yourself. That no matter what you’ve done in the past, it’s got to go to another level, onward and upward I guess. Well each year this feeling is renewed on my niece’s birthday, and like clockwork it was back again this year!
For her 6th Birthday party, my niece Phoenix decided her theme was going to be Disney’s, “Tangled.” A theme I couldn’t be more excited about! I absolutely love that movie. I mean obviously, “The Little Mermaid,” is my all-time favorite, but for me, “Tangled,” is right there with, “Beauty and The Beast,” and “Cinderella.” I immediately started brain-storming how I would create the perfect, “Tangled,” cake in less than 24 hours!
The pressure was on! I had to create the perfect cake! I started off thinking I would just make a giant tower with Rapunzel and a few of the other characters, but I figured out that wouldn’t be enough cake for the number of people coming, so I had to expand upon that idea! Just then it hit me, I could make a mountain with walk up steps and have the tower on top! I started baking and baking, and icing and icing, one burn from the oven, six layers of cake later, and more candy and icing than I had seen in a while, my creation was complete!! Here’s my latest cake!!
Lots of Love,
