There are somethings in life I think you should do in the privacy of your own home: floss your teeth, sing Patsy Cline songs, (she’s just too good, don’t even attempt it in public), eat corn on the cob, you get my drift. Well, as a singer there is one thing you wish and hope you could always do from home, and that is sing the National Anthem! Now please don’t mistake my words, I believe we live in the greatest country in world and are blessed to be American, but there aren’t words for how difficult our National Anthem is to sing! Many phenomenal singers have fallen flat on their faces trying to sing the unsingable song!
Getting asked to sing the, National Anthem is for me, the perfect example of the a catch 22! I honestly believe there is no bigger honor. Representing your country in song is an honor every singer dreams of from birth, but the pressure that goes along with it, is quite intense! I have been asked to perform the National Anthem several times, but the pressure I am feeling for the next time I sing it is already starting to build!
I’m not allowed to go into detail just yet about the event I’ll be performing at, but it’s going to be solely members of our military and their families, (I can feel the butterflies already)! I’ve never wanted to do a better job singing in my life. Being in the presence of heroes that sacrifice daily for our great country is, going to be the greatest honor I’ve ever had.
I’m asking you all to send the great singing vibes my way in July! I might be a little nervous, but more than anything I feel so grateful for the opportunity to be surrounded by the greatest people in our country.
Lots of Love,
